Creature
Chapter 1
Sarah always knew her house was haunted. Even though no one believed her she knew something was wrong. One day she had had enough. Sarah marched up to her attic and slowly opened the creaky door. The attic was dusty, so much so that as the light shone through the circular window dust particles danced in the bright sunbeams. Sarah stepped into the attic. Before she knew it, the door slammed behind her. But Sarah wasn't scared, she knew that the ghost wasn't there to hurt her. She called out.“Hello is anyone here? No one answered. She was about to turn back when she heard shuffling towards the end of the attic.
“Hello?” she asked again but this time she heard tapping.
“Tap tap tap.” She crept towards the sound of tapping. The sound got louder and louder. The taps became closer together until all she could hear where loud bangs. She finally figured out where the sound is coming from. It was coming from behind two large cardboard boxes. She took a deep breath. Sarah moved the top box towards the ground and peered over. A look of fear passed over her face as she gazed upon what looked like a shriveled-up Creature.
“Hello,” she said.
“Are you okay.” The creature looked up at her with a look of terror.
“It's okay,” she said
“You don't have to be scared.” The thing made hissing noises at her.
“Can you speak?” she asked, more hisses.
“Do you understand me? The thing shook its head yes. I said
“Who are you?” more hissing noise as followed.
“I'm not afraid of you I just want to know why you're here.” She proclaimed. “I'm here for you Sarah.” the thing said in a raspy voice.
Chapter 2
“I'm here for you Sarah.” The thing said. Heart pounding, Sarah muttered, "W-w-What do you mean?"
"I mean, I am here to help you."
"Me? What do I need help with?"
"You are in grave danger. The malevolent Queen Claradina wants to take you.”
“Who?”
“Queen Claradina. She rules over the kingdom Zimburn. But, that is not what you should be worrying about now, right now you need to focus on listening to me.”
You? Why would I listen to you? You’re a freak!”
“I am Finley Howard, at your service. Now please come with me if you want to live.” Before Sarah could say anything, Finley reached out and grabbed my arm.
“Are you ready?” he asked.
“What?” Finley pulled a book out from behind him and set it on the floor between us. He proceeded to jump into its crinkly pages. Since Finley had Sarah’s arm in his hand she got pulled in too. As they tumbled through the deep, dark ravine, Sarah screamed but no sound came out. They finally hit the ground. But it wasn't hard it felt like a cloud. Sarah sat up quickly. When she looked around she saw lush forests and towering mountains. A sort of Nirvana passed over her and she felt at ease. She looked at her legs and realized she was wearing new clothes, a white flowy dress and simple shiny flats with a bow. Her curly blond hair that was usually back in a messy ponytail was now straightened and in it hung silver strands that glistened in the sunlight. She looked behind her a saw a boy. He seemed charming and sweet. He smiled at her and then said.
“Hey Sarah. It’s Finley.”
